Welcome to 'Raw Food for Life'...

We are so delighted to be here sharing with you in this way!

Our inspiration for "Raw Food for Life' arose from the love of our being, our health and all life on our planet.
Eating plant foods reconnects us to the Earth's vital life-force. We hope to inspire you with our free Raw recipes

and information... may they motivate and nourish you as together we share the simplicity of a natural lifestyle for life!

Many of the recipes are our own but some are others that we have found and tried that are worthy of sharing

and giving credit to the chef that created them.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions... we ask that you bare with us if we don't get back to you straight away
as we do this in our spare time, this is not a business but simply an opportunity to share and offer support to those that
are seeking the health, happiness and harmony that a Raw food lifestyle offers.

Raw food quote...
"The greatest value of the raw food diet is its transformative value. To a great extent, when you take up the raw food diet, you become a new and different person. You don't just stay the old person, only a little healthier. You become, a new being with new interests, a new philosophy and outlook on life, new goals and desires.
You become more of your essence, your true and natural self. You become a person who is more a part of the one great life of Nature and less of the confused human world.
You become less "of the world" and more "of the Earth."

WE LOVE ENZYMES!
Enzymes are substances which make life possible. They are needed for every chemical reaction that occurs in our body. Without enzymes, no activity at all would take place. Neither vitamins, minerals, or hormones can do any work -- without enzymes.

Think of it this way: Enzymes are the "labor force" that builds your body just like construction workers are the labor force that build your house. You may have all the necessary building materials and lumber, but to build a house you need workers, which represent the vital life element.

Similarly, you may have all the nutrients -- vitamins, proteins, minerals, etc., for your body, but you still need the enzymes -- the life element -- to keep the body alive and well. Cooking your food kills these vitally essential enzymes.

Sprouts are extremely high in enzymes. When we choose to eat sprouts this inherent energy inside the live, enzyme rich food is released into our body!

Mindful Eating
When we are mindful, we recognize what we are picking up. When we put it into our mouth, we know what we are putting into our mouth. When we chew it, we know what we are chewing. It's very simple.

Some of us, while looking at a piece of carrot, can see all of life in it, can see the sunshine in it, can see the earth in it. It has come from the whole universe for our nourishment.

You may like to smile to it before you put it in your mouth. When you chew it, you are aware that you are chewing a piece of carrot. Don't put anything else into your mouth, like your projects, your worries, your fear, just put the carrot in.

And when you chew, chew only the carrot, not your projects or your ideas. You are capable of living in the present moment, in the here and now. It is simple, but you need some training to just enjoy the piece of carrot. This is a miracle.

If we are not present when we are eating an orange then the orange isn’t here either.

There are some people who eat an orange but don't really eat it. They eat their sorrow, fear, anger, past, and future. They are not really present, with body and mind united.

If you are here, life is also here. When you look at the orange, you discover that it is nothing less than fruit growing, turning yellow, becoming orange, the acid becoming sugar. The orange tree took time to create this masterpiece.

When you are truly here, contemplating the orange, breathing and smiling, the orange becomes a miracle. It is enough to bring you a lot of happiness. You peel the orange, smell it, take a section, and put it in your mouth mindfully, fully aware of the juice on your tongue. This is eating an orange in mindfulness. It makes the miracle of life possible. It makes joy possible.

Wheatgrass
The benefits of Wheatgrass
are endless, here are just a few...

Increases red blood-cell count and lowers blood pressure. It cleanses the blood, organs and gastrointestinal tract of debris. Wheatgrass also stimulates metabolism and the body’s enzyme systems by enriching the blood. It also aids in reducing blood pressure by dilating the blood pathways throughout the body.

Stimulates the thyroid gland, correcting obesity, indigestion, and a host of other complaints.

Restores alkalinity to the blood. The juice's abundance of alkaline minerals helps reduce over-acidity in the blood. It can be used to relieve many internal pains, and has been used successfully to treat peptic ulcers, ulcerative colitis, constipation, diarrhea, and other complaints of the gastrointestinal tract.

Is a powerful detoxifier, and liver and blood protector. The enzymes and amino acids found in wheatgrass can protect us from carcinogens like no other food or medicine. It strengthens our cells, detoxifies the liver and bloodstream, and chemically neutralizes environmental pollutants.

Fights tumors and neutralizes toxins. Recent studies show that wheatgrass juice has a powerful ability to fight tumors without the usual toxicity of drugs that also inhibit cell-destroying agents. The many active compounds found in grass juice cleanse the blood and neutralize and eliminate toxins in our cells.

Homemade Almond Milk

Making your own Almond milk is so easy...

2 cups raw almonds
& water for soaking
5 cups water
1 tsp organic vanilla extract
2-3 fresh dates, pitted and chopped (optional)

Preparation: Completely cover and soak the almonds in water overnight or for at least 6 hours. Drain the water from the almonds and discard (as it is bitter). Blend the 5 cups of water, almonds, vanilla and dates until well blended and smooth. Strain the blended almond mixture using a very fine strainer or nut bag (available at some healthfood stores or online). It will keep well in the fridge for around four days.

*Instead of throwing the almond pulp out you can add it to recipes, or if you have a dehydrator you can make it into almond flour.

Nutritional facts: This is a delicious home made alternative to Dairy or Soy. Almonds contain many protective nutrients - calcium and magnesium - for strong bones, vitamin E and compounds called phytochemicals, which help protect against cardiovascular disease and cancer. These nutrients are perfectly produced by nature in a form that is readily absorbed into human bodies, as opposed to the structure of Cows milk which is designed perfectly to grow a calf into a 500kg-1 tonne Cow.
